I read the first book in this series some time ago, and was able to pick up the story in this volume very easily. I really enjoyed the mystery aspects in Vorn the Oynx and the surprise twist. Just when you've sorted out one mystery, a whole new problem presents itself. As with the first book, I find that the writing really transports you to the author's fantasy, adventure world - and it's great to spend your day there side-by-side with the characters.

This is a continuation of the story started in Aure, the Topaz. This time the story while still moving fast, develops all of the main characters and throws in a few twists and turns. Overall, a great next chapter in the story.

The author has gotten a lot in here: mages, bards, witches, necromancers, knights, nobility, a quest... And yet the book is not the pile of swords and sorcery cliches one too often encounters. It is a coherent, well thought out plot presented in a gripping way. If you\\\'re looking for a fun read to relax with, ... Read More
